I went down to Seaside for a couple of days with my wife.
While we were down there I remembered reading the Secret Oregon beach pics thread.
I thought I'd take my ride out on the sand for the first time and let the Mrs. take a couple of pics.
looks like fun but I was doing the same thing in my tacoma and I got pulled over by the police. Apparently you have to treat the beach like a 25 mph road and no cookies!!! Thank god a Heep got stuck in the sand near the ocean and started getting hit by waves so he let me off the hook to save him.

Yeah... I didn't think it was probably the best idea, but I couldn't resist. Early morning, secluded section, fog camouflage... I wouldn't spend very much time with the cookies. Fun stuff, though. The next time I'm down that direction I'll probably grab a flag and hit Sand Lake.
HAHA that is so funny my old house is right on the other side of those dunes. I've never heard it called Gearheart beach tho, I've always heard of it as Sunset beach. Anyways did you happen to see the the hill climb about 2 miles north of the access?? locals call it Strawberry knoll, lots of fun.

No its not Gearheart beach, but what do I know, except it is 70 miles to the shell station from my house, and that the shell station has copies of the local paper, which contains tide tables, which are handy...
