Re: Cruisin' The Woods 2006

On another note, when are you guys showing up? I'm planning to head out of work as soon as possible on Friday and get over there. Anyone familiar with the area? What are the camping options? Thanks.

+2, myself and a friend, both off-road noobs, in my FJ. Arrive Sat AM, prolly ~ 6:45. Hope that Chevron before the pass is open then.

Bill, last I was there camping was primitive. There were bathrooms and drinking water, but don't count on sleeping on anything but dirt. Oh wait, I just remembered some of your pics. You could easily tow your camp trailer over the FS dirt road to the trailhead for camping. I think it's $10/night payable to the ranger, and an ORV permit that's available from GI Joe's for $10 or so and good for two years.

Nice!

The trailer has no problems with dirt roads. I'll hitch it up Friday! Need to come up with a good excuse to get out of work early...

Re: Cruisin' The Woods 2006

I, uh, was planning on just sleeping in the FJ. If I had to, I was going to bum a parking spot at someone else's campsite, but it is just me, wife and kids staying home. Cold dinner and cold breakfast for me, then hit the trails early am!
