Newbie in Portland, OR

hello everyone! Just brought home my FJ one week ago today. I had been waiting for a while to get one, and so far i love the vehicle! I bought the 4 wheel drive automatic in black with a roof wrack, etc. i've never done any mods on anything i've owned, but can already see i'll be interested in working on this rig! my 2 year old daughter Elia loves it, and calls it the "FJ Crrrruuuuiiiizzzzzeeeeerrrr with white on top!"

hope to see you all in the mud someday soon, i'm looking forward to doing some offroading. I'm an avid fly fisherman (mainly for carp!) so you might see me and my rig out on a river or slough frequently!

Thanks to all for the good advice I gleaned while reading the forums pre-purchase, and I hope to see you all on the road and in the mud!

Come out to Hood River or The Dalles and say 'hi'.

I'd like to get together with more of our 'local' wheelers. I've met a few and they've been great.

Hello chewey46 it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?

Yeah, there is all kinds of stagnant 'carp' water along the freeway.

Re: Newbie in Portland, OR

I have caught hundreds of carp in the Multnomah Channel. I used them for bait in my crawfishing business there in my teens. Ran over 300 traps.

I learned that popcorn on the surface then casually dropping an M300 in the water beneath them speeds up the process .

Welcome to the forums, maybe we'll meet up when the PDXers have another get together.
