Lifted FJs in Placerville

Hi all! I am brand new to this forum. Great forum! I am newly seeking a base 4x4 manual in black cherry or black...mmm drove the manual today!
So, I wanted to share that Thompson's Toyota in Placerville, CA is adding 2 inch lift kits (the same as on the Tacoma) and Bridgestone ATs (I am pretty sure ) onto all of their incoming FJs, and as of today they had 6 arriving shortly. Got this info here:

Yes, it costs extra, he said it was to compensate for the $5000 market markup that many dealers are doing. So basically you are paying for it, but exactly how much depends on you!!

I love car dealers

Thumbs down Re: Lifted FJs in Placerville

Save your money and find an honest dealer. Reserch, reserch, reserch. It may take little longer to get your vehicle but chances are you won't be paying that kind of mark up. It would pay to check other states at that price.

Tahoesash:

I just got a Black Cherry 6 spd MT from Hanlee's Toyota at Hilltop (in Richmond, CA) for MSRP. Talk to Esteban, the asst. manager for Internet sales. I think you'll do much better to find a black, frankly, since the BC is such a limited production run.

Rumor has it that Longo Toyota in SoCal has quite a few; CaliFJ worked with a salesman there called Hans, and was very pleased.

You might try Melissa Miller at Freeman Toyota in Santa Rosa; she had me on her list for the past 6 weeks, with no deposit required. So IF they have one preferenced like I wanted coming in, you might be able to take the place on her list that I resigned yesterday.

Good luck!

Re: Lifted FJs in Placerville

Thanks for replies! I know, the 5K markup is insane. I just thought it was cool that the dealer was doing the lift kits. Those guys will always negotiate - that's the art of the deal. Now that i've surfed here more tonight, I find more dealers adding Bridgestones as well. The one I drove today - black, loaded, not the one in Placerville - had some Dunlops. It's way more loaded than I want, but do I really want to wait for the next allocation and/or buy one miles away?
