There is a very large park-and-ride lot at the intersection of I-5 and Durham, near PDXTuning. It will probably be empty on Saturday. Meeting off of I205 at the Clackamas Fred Meyer does seem like a natural for this though...

(I may delay my OME install and show up for this run after all. I'll know more next week.)
That seems like a more convenient location for us Eastsiders.

I was thinking of meeting at the Clackamas Fred Meyers at Hwy212 and I5, at 7:00. Or we could meet at then intersection of Hwy 224 and Hwy 211 in Estacada, 7:30. Then start the drive up the Clackamas River no later than 8:30.
What route are we taking to Olallie Lake? It would be best to decide on where to meet instead of everyone wanting to meet all over the area. We need a central meeting place before we start on the run. Also here's how we do it with the VW/AUDI people, they make up meeting point for others in the area to caravan TO the central meeting place before heading up on a run. This way everyone isn't driving all over the place and then having to backtrack towards the area they are from to get to the meeting place. Basically the Vancouver people can meet up at a place convenient to them, the East and West Siders can meet up at a location closest to them and then we all meet up at the central meeting place to do the run.

If we're going to be going through Estacada, maybe we should make the central meeting location at Clackamas Town Center which is just off of I-205 and near a starting point.

ALL of my input is just a suggestion as we have done this in the past and still continue to do this as it is found to work the best in attempting to meet up for an event.

EXAMPLE, EXAMPLE, EXAMPLE:

Vancouver/North end people meet at Walmart off of I-205 or at Janzen Beach Target.
South end people meet at Fry's.
West end people meet up at REI Bridgeport
East end people meet up at the Walmart off of I-84 @ Marine Dr.

Pending on the area closest to you, you meet up there.

Everyone meets up with their group and then head down to the central location, Clackamas Town Center, BestBuy.

This is just an example of how it's done when there are events to attend, but they are usually bigger than this one.

Re: Ollalie Lake Run ROLL CALL!

Good idea. Maybe the WestSide could meet at PDXTuning. Maybe WA members can pick a good place in Vacouver. Then we all would meet at Clackamas Fred Meyers at Hwy212 and I5, at 7:00

Re: Ollalie Lake Run ROLL CALL!

Sounds like a cool run and looks some what close to Central Oregon. Would love to join ya. Have a few questions: How many nights? Where are people camping/sleeping? Is there a meeting point established for people from down south (Bend)?

Yes, all we would need is the address or a map of where the Fred Meyer posted as there will be some that are not familiar of that location and how to get to it.

We are actually going down there for a one day trip. There were talks about camping, but the majority were only going to be making it out for one day as the weekend ends, they will have to return to work. If it were a holiday weekend, then there would possibly be some staying and camping out. We were originally going on Memorial Day Weekend, but plans changed and we're now going on a day trip on 12May07.

Re: Ollalie Lake Run ROLL CALL!

Wow. Getting pretty complicated here. I don't think we have that many people traveling all that far to require multiple meeting places. IMO that would just delay things. Just pick a place in the I-205 corridor and call it good. Exit 12A to Estacada is where we need to meet. I will drive there now and find a place to meet.

That's fine with me, but I only added the above because people wanted to meet here and there that were closer to them and away from the starting point, so that meant others would of had to drive out to that location and that back in the original direction they came from before starting on the run. I do agree that there are not that many members to start with separate meeting places, but it was only a suggestion to the help with the decision making for a meeting place. The meeting place should be a large opened area/parking lot so you can be seen from the road instead of driving around looking for everyone. It should also be a large enough business so everyone can look up the info as location and how to get there.

Just pick a location that's near the starting point and we should all be happy and accept it. Just like the coast run to the coast on St. Patty's Day. We met up at Target in Tanasbourne and headed out from there. That made sense since it was on the way out there.

Re: Ollalie Lake Run ROLL CALL!

Take exit 12a off I-205 and head east. About 3/4 mile on the right is a Kentucky Fried Chicken. We'll meet there. If you want to caravan to the KFC then feel free, but the central meeting point will be at this KFC at 7am. Then we head directly through Estacada and towards the lake from there.

AAhh, the one on 98th St intersection. Hopefully we fill up their parking lot with FJs that morning!
