Just across the street, Lake Tapps. My son's Soccer coach pulled this monster out of the lake on the 21st. Fishing season is here! (Those from the Midwest will know what the fish is. It is 26 lbs. Yes, you have to release them)

It's always good to see Tapps water level up. It was late this year! Was he fishing for Musky? First I have heard of them up there, than again I have only fished Tapps once due to all the activity on that lake...not that I don't love enjoying the water sports there =)
I was thinking pike. I dont know anything about the fish up youre way. I Go fishing in the gulf alot and that thing looks like it could rival a 4' King fish as far as fight goes. so someone was saying that you cant keep them, yet they are not a native fish? Or is it just not a good fish to eat?

Steed, you are correct, they are not indgenous to the lake, they were planted years ago to control the junk fish population (as they are predators) They are sterile, so they can't reproduce.
Dragon, not sure, I haven't talked to Dave (the guy who caught it) yet, just saw his pic on Washingtonlakes.com
Noworries, yes, he was targeting Tiger muskies.
gnwhie, I believe Tiger Muskie might be part of the pike family. Yes, they are edible and if they taste anything like their cousin the Northern Pike, they are good to eat. I've found out the lake limit is 1 fish, over 36" long. Most folks toss them back.
