Re: Best dealer in Seattle-Tacoma area?

I had a pretty typical car buying experience at Michael's in Bellevue. I worked predominantly with Lee Fritz and he treated me pretty good. My only problem is they didn't really want to budge from MSRP back in April when I was buying, but I think that's just how it was up here in the NW for the FJ at the time. I'd recommend calling all of them and get them working against each other if possible. And when they offer up the extended warranty, dicker with them on the price of it if you are interested in it.

So far, I've only had one oil change at Michael's and it was fairly painless. Nice waiting area with free cookies, drinks, and coffee mugs.

Re: Best dealer in Seattle-Tacoma area?

Bought mine from Jack at Titus-Will Toyota in Tacoma Aug 26, 2006. Back then there was no negotiating price as they couldn't keep them on the lots more than a couple days. I ordered mine and waited 2+ months... Great experience, would buy from them again.

Did I mention I hate it when dealers don't post the full details of vehicles on their online inventory?

Before you start looking you have to assume the proper mental state:

Best "stealer" in Sea-Tac area, best meaning...... will steal less from you?

Re: Best dealer in Seattle-Tacoma area?

I went by 4 dealers today.

Burien - Talked to Matt. He had a 2008 with the off road package that I liked but no inverter or rear speakers. Not sure if those are worth it. I plan on adding my own stereo equipment anyway.

Bob-Bridge - didn't talk to anyone. no one came out to see what was up. None of the FJs on the lot were what I wanted.

Toyota Of Puyallup - Went to talk to the salesman that I had spoken to yesterday over the phone. He was called but never came to see what was up. I can understand if they are busy but it would be nice for them to at least acknowledge you are there. I then left after looking at their inventory and not finding what I wanted.

Larson Toyota - Went in looking for Jack Wheeler. The receptionist told me he was there but busy. He left before talking to me. Dealt with one of the sales managers. Seemed ok. Found a 2007 that had what I wanted. Decided to think about it for a bit.

Wish I could help you man, but I bought from Titus-Will. I made it easy knowing what I wanted and they only had the one on the lot. It was a positive experience.

Re: Best dealer in Seattle-Tacoma area?

I ended up buying a loaded 2007 silver at Larson. $100 over invoice. It's build date is 07/07 which makes it almost a 2008. The only real probs I had were in the Finance department trying to pull a fast one on who I financed through. I requested BECU to the salesman, but the finance person ran it through toyota. Luckily I caught it on the forms before I signed. She swore the salesman told her Toyota. Uh-Huh.

It is going to take some getting used to the size of this vehicle. I sold my STi to buy this.
