Not to rain on anyone's parade but there are a lot of trails and activities under fire in Montana. There have also been closures. There are some places just over the border from Northern Idaho where I grew up that we used to drive into or ride our motorcycles into so that we could camp that are now closed. The same area also has had snowmobiling since before I was a kid that they are trying to close down. There are people fighting the closures and there are also some ATV trails that have been opened and tied in with trails in Idaho.
As Sean K said there are lands being bought up all over. I have been going up to visit friends and family for years and they all talk about the places that have been bought out and the "No Trespassing" signs that have started sprouting in places. They also talk about the complaints about every little thing that someone does coming from a lot of the new neighbors. It's like the stories you read of the pig farm that has been operating in the same place for 50 years and the new neighbor moves in next door and then complains about the smell and the farm gets shut down.
My mom's side of the family has been in North Idaho for at least 100 years and my dad's family were some of the first to settle in their area of Montana in the 1800's.
On a side note, MissFJ, we might welcome you to Wyoming if you'd like. I'll have to think about it.

Ok, we'll welcome you.
