Buff right out LOL Unfortunately I've already release the vehicle to the insurance company sorry I am planning to get another FJ though.
Were you able to save some of the after market stuff like the Bandi mount before you released it?

I only took the bandi mount and swapped out my 5 tires, that is all... I submitted my receipts to the insurance company to account for the:

Predator Bar Steps
OME Lift
TRD Exhaust
AirRaid Intake

That's all the mod I added

Re: Tillamook South Fork Road

Ok Rick one more question for you..... Did that Tree give any warning before it attacked your FJ? wiggel a branch, toss a needel or leaf at you? Or was it just right down sneaky, and jump rightout with out any warning?

There was a thick cloud of dirt around me that I couldn't even see what's in front of me until it was too late. You can see I took one helluva chunk from that rotted tree. I never knew I hit that tree until I climbed up back on the road. If that wasn't rotted, I would have surely rolled big time...

Re: Tillamook South Fork Road

Guess I missed what happened to cause this. Sounds like you lost view of the road due to dust? Sorry for your loss, damn shame.

Okay here is the link to the photos. As for all of you going to Tillamook this weekend, watch out for South Fork Road as they regraded it about 3 weeks ago, so drive safely and slowly as anyone should be doing anyhow. Accidents do happen and sometimes it's out of your control...

Uh oh. That must have been a life before your eyes moment. I miss the ferns, ceders and hemlocks. I grew up in the Cascades and no place is more beautiful or wild to me. Have fun.

Did your airbags eject? If so, what was that experience like? (sorry if you already mentioned that)

Unhappy Re: Tillamook South Fork Road

No airbag deployment due to tree hitting the right most fender. I've been told it needs to hit nearly the center of the bumper and possibly must be going at 20mph or over.

3 factors came into play that took me out:

-Thick dust cloud lingering in mid air, no wind whatsoever
-Road was just graded a week ago so there were lots of pebbles, felt like riding on marbles
-When both right tires went into edge, I could have gotten out, but after a few feet, my tires dove into a 3 foot ditch/pot hole like that really made me go down the hill

When I realized I'll never make out, a split second decision was to turn toward the passenger side and head downhill hoping a tree would break my fall which it did. If there was no tree there, I still had about 1100-150 foot drop into the bottom of the stream. I was only 1/3 up the hill.

As for experience...felt like I was a stunt driver for a movie... In reality, its like holding to dear life, glad I wore my seat belt!

Re: Tillamook South Fork Road

Sorry to hear about this Rick.
I hope there are plenty of FJs down your way when it is time to replace yours.
Glad to hear you are OK.

My dealer where I bought mine has quite a few, including some of the special ones listed below.

Will you go for one of the offroad ones that come decked out already with the ARB bumper, winch, OME lift, Pro Comp tire and wheels?
Maybe you can get a discount on one of those special orders since you already have your tires and wheels.
