Where are some good off road trails in OR?

Hi I live in portland, Or and I wanted to know if anyone had any good summer suggestions for taking my FJ (which should be here in June) off road?

I live in Hood River. I want fun trails in Oregon also...just haven't gone looking too much. I kick around out in my neck of the woods exploring with forest service maps...but seems like all we have are logging roads. NW FJ owners are looking to meet up...there's a thread about it around here somewhere. Sounds like Washington, though. I'll let you know if I find something.

When I lived there, I heard lots of good things about Noonday Trail. Google it and see

That actually wouldn't be a bad idea. The Oregon Dunes are pretty fun also for sand wheeling. Both of these locations would make it closer for our "homeless" northern california friends to join in on the fun.

Re: Where are some good off road trails in OR?

No dunes for me. I don't have any interest in 'em. I don't have any interest in (okay, get ready to trash me here) flinging sand into every single mechanical, electrical, and structural component of my FJ. Funny...mud, rocks, snow...none of those bother me. But sand? I just can't do it. Don't cry though...you probably wouldn't want to hang around me anyway.

Re: Where are some good off road trails in OR?

I am scared of the Dunes I have had bad experiences in some sand near Coos Bay in my 03 Tacoma...its kinda embarassing having a sherif tow you out infront of all your friends after you only made it 15 feet into some sand =(
