Body Shop recommendations?

Well this sucks, I was heading home from camping today and with all the rain on the western WA coast, and the wind blowing 50-60mph right at the mouth of the Columbia, a big tree cracked off at the base and fell across the road right in front of me as I was doing 50mph on 101.

It exploded across the front of the FJ (and I was amazed how well a job the factory brush guard did protecting the lights and turn signals, not a scratch), but a big chunk flew up into the air and landed on my roof, leaving a sizable dent. 3 weeks old...I have the worst luck when I buy brand new vehicles

Anyway, anyone know a good reputable body shop that can bring this thing back to "new" condition?

Re: Body Shop recommendations?

First of all, glad you're ok. Second, I can't help with your question. But I think you need to look at this another way. You say you have the worst luck when you buy a new vehicle, but I would say that you are lucky that tree didn't fall on the FJ. If you had arrived at that spot only seconds earlier the result could have been much different. Good luck in your search for a good body shop....and go buy a lottery ticket!!

Re: Body Shop recommendations?

Sorry to hear about your rig

Not sure what part of Portland you are in. I took "Vorpal" to Tualatin AutoBody. They did a great job. I found they by getting a list of bodyshops from my insurance company. Then got estimates from 4 of them. I tossed the lowest and highest, and chose Tualatin between the remaining two.

Re: Body Shop recommendations?

Did you get an insurance quote? Some insurance companies will total a vehicle if the roof is damaged.
