Re: Helped an Nissan Xterra

you can't tell from the picture, but it was on a slope. We tried to yank it from the somewhere else but the rook rack was the only thing we could think of at the time. The only thing that was on our minds was that; 1) it was starting to rain hard and it's getting slippery 2)on a hill 3) didn't want to pull it the wrong way and have it roll down the hill.

We brought the Xterra along because we just wanted to see what it would do off-pavement.

Here is a the "after" picture. After all was said and done that day, we all agreed it was fun!

Re: Helped an Nissan Xterra

I had a buddy years ago that bought an Xterra when they first came out. I think that roof rack has got to be one of the best, heavy-dutiest roof racks out there. I wouldn't be surprised if you could hang the whole truck by it! Of course, maybe the xtra heavy duty roof rack is what makes it so damn top heavy! I really think those things are even more unstable than Wranglers. First thing I would do before taking the Xterra off road is LOWER it! Just kidding of course. But yeh, riding in it, it felt very top heavy and there's some you tube videos out there that show just how top heavy they are. Xterras rolling over when just about anything else would have been fine.

Re: Helped an Nissan Xterra

Oh, and yeh, I agree with the couple previous posts. Doesn't matter weather you like what the person is driving or not. It's about wheeling, not brand loyalty. And it's a person in need of help, not a brand. Everyone buys the rig that will do what they want it to do. And they are all good for something different. I'm just waiting for the day I pull a Jeep from some precarious situation that has one of them "boy peeing on Toyota" stickers, so after the recovery I can go shine it up for them.

X2.............it's all about wheelin', whatever the brand, everybody can help, no matter what the situation. I know I would never turn down a helping hand if I was in need.
