Tahuya 10/20

I'm gonna play at Tahuya with some guys tomorrow morning. I won't have my FJ, but I will have my Jeep and some other Yota guys are gonna go. It looks like it should be a nice muddy mess. If you're interested, drop me a PM and I'll send you my cell # and/or a ham radio freq.

Re: Tahuya 10/20

It was a good time, even though we didn't even get to run the whole loop. One of the guys I was wheeling with decided to try and turn his rig into a PT Boat or Submarine or something and hydrolocked his engine. Pics to come.

Re: Tahuya 10/20

It started out fine... Me in my Jeep and three Toyota 4 Runners. (Not an FJ to be seen! For shame!)

Yeah...it was raining and there was mud galore. Tayhua isn't a really hardcore spot to wheel, so it was fine for me in the Jeep which isn't locked, and for the Yota guys who were mostly 2 wheel drive.

Then we came to the water.

You know you're in trouble when your rig is creating a bow wave.

We climbed a hill or two...

Then Chris wanted to double back and hit the water again. (He was driving the red rig...)

And here's the result.

Re: Tahuya 10/20

Why did he have to get towed out?? One of these days I will make it back out there!!!

Reiter is closer for me. But Tahuya is fun with a few rigs.

Hello chewey46 it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?

Yikes, that does sound nasty:

Hydrolock - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I guess any time the words "engine" and "lock" appear in the same sentence, it's likely a Bad Thing(tm).

Re: Tahuya 10/20

I knew that darker 4Runner looked familiar I have pictures of when he hydrolocked his engine on a run last March, in the exact same "pond" I believe? Fearless, poor guy, but they were able to get it back up and running and drive out.

Re: Tahuya 10/20

Tahuya is famous for locked up engines. If I had a nickel for every story of someone locking thier motor up there, I'd be a rich man?
