Looking at the FJ

I'm thinking of buying an FJ this summer. Does anyone have any input on the local dealers. I live in the Vancouver WA. area. Thanks.

Re: Looking at the FJ

I had no problems with Rodland Toyota in Everett when I got my silver FJ that was loaded, treated me fair and did what they said they were going to do.

Burien Toyota can't seem to come up with jack sheet...
but they lack product knowledge and will lie about availibility times if thats what you are into.

Re: Looking at the FJ

Griffith Motors in The Dalles has done nothing but good stuff for me. That's where I got mine...talk to Doug Raymond. He may not know much about the FJ, but that's not odd for salesmen. He's nice and was always straight up with me. Stay far far away from Gladstone Toyota...they're crooks. Just call around to see who has the FJ you want coming in or already there and make sure the deal is MSRP or less.

It would be great if I had a clue, but let's face it, that's just not gonna happen.

Re: Looking at the FJ

I talked briefly to a salesman here in Bend about the FJ and he made it sound like availability was almost nil with a very small production run and basically snubbed me from really even looking at the truck. The Cruiser that they did have was supposedly sold already and they told me that there was a waiting list umpteen people deep that were ready to pony up $32k because of how few there are out there. For a "rare" vehicle I've seen quite a few around Bend, so people are finding them somewhere. I can't stand those lame-o sales tactics. In short, I would be real cautious if I were to consider to buy from Dave Holt Toyota in Bend, or make dang sure that I found a better salesman.

Aaroneous,
Most of the FJ's I've seen in Bend are from the Valley side. I pass by Dave Holt's Toyota every morning and have only seen one FJ on the lot. I assume it was dropped for delivery prep. I also saw a black one at the Hertz dealership for a couple days with a balloon tied to the antenna. Most new plates have been from the Eugene dealer. Ours is supposed to be coming in this month from the Corvallis dealership. I think we ordered ours in early April or late March.

Re: Looking at the FJ

Yeah, Downtown Toyota in Spokane had a ton of them when I bought mine. There's also a black one on the lot at the tiny dealer in Corvallis.
