Reiter Trails 23-FEB-2008: pics & post-mortem

Well folks, it was a beautifully sunny, muddy, rutted, tight, twisty, pinstripe-and-mild-carnage-filled day. Once again, a fantastic time with the crew, and I was pleased to meet and run with Young in his quite-capable Ruby, Cassidy and Marlene in the TRD SE, and Chris and Brandon in the Ti. Ya'll are Good People(tm).

We had ten rigs consisting of three Jeeps and seven FJs, and ended up splitting into two groups of 6 and 4. These are pics from the "Sac-Up Group", consisting of 5 FJs and 1 Jeep. We did a quick warmup on Powerline South, then ran Sac-Up, ate some lunch and took a look at the 3-Step obstacle on Lower Powerline, then ran Lake Isabel up as far as we could (stopped at a second washout). Special thanks to my friend Shelby who sat co-pilot with me on this run, we got a decent batch of pictures.

Full album: Reiter Trails, February 23rd, 2008

Pre-run lineup at the parking area:

Ben on the warmup run on Powerline South:

The fender-buster was much more rutted than previously, and the trail in general was a nastier again than last time.

Doh! Custom trail mod. I did not heed Cassidy's warning and went left on an obstacle when I should've stuck right. I didn't remember having trouble here before on the last two Sac-Up runs, come to find out it's because we took a different route this time! :|

And off into the sunset, the end to a fun day.

Thanks March and Shelby for the smashing pics! The weather was spectacular and it was a very fun run. Sac-Up was very different this time around, eh?

Thanks again!

Great pictures. It looks like you guys had a good time on the trails you ran.

I'll try and get some pics up today after I wash my rig. I'm afraid I didn't get a ton as I was too busy driving and my co-pilot was too busy grinding her teeth in certain spots. I know my wife took some and I haven't even looked at them yet so hopefully we got some good shots.

Sadly I didn't get many wheeling pics, but here's something.

A few more up on flickr.

Marlene and I had a blast! Thanks to all that came out to enjoy the beautiful day and some challenging trails. I am going to pull the plug when it comes to me and spotting. I think three out of the four dents aquired happened when I was helping spot through tight areas(Sorry Folks)! Here a few pictures that Marlene and I took.

Great pictures, Cassidy, thanks to both of you!

I love that shot of Ben spotting you between those stumps, it looks like you're about 20 feet straight up.

Ooops! I placed my pics in the wrong thread. Here's the link to them and a couple samples.
