Oh hell no! I know no one is equipped to be down that bowl and make it out w/o help, unless you have a very looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong recovery strap But what do I know?
I've gone down into it, but could not get up it. There are ways out that aren't as steep. With the bumps that form at the bottom, you can't get any speed to power up it. I tried every 4x4 option and only got a few feet up it before digging in. Nice thing about Sand Lake is that there is usually an easy route out of wherever you might find yourself stuck. Great pics....looks like quite a turnout!

So I presume you found a way out w/o any help? If so...

Yeah I got out on the side. I was just messing around near where that truck flipped in the picture. Was trying standing starts at the very bottom. I was only able to creep up a few feet until digging in. I never really drove on sand before and I was humbled by how much a heavy rig loaded with gear and dogs can get bogged down in the sand. Luckily Sand Lake gives you plenty of smooth terrain to get up some good speed to power up most of the steep dunes....it's just that bowl's wall is a little too steep and bumpy to get up without some serious suspension work to take care of the set of whoops that await you just before the incline. Another nice thing about the sand is that if you get stuck going up, it's an easy reverse and roll back down to try again!
Ok, quick question. How are these flag poles attached to the FJ's? Can someone post picks or direct me with links as to how it is done?
I plan on being there next time

Check out these pics from BDFJ....the first few pics show a few different ways the flags were attached. Mine is the one with the plastic ties holding it to the rear wheel, which worked out very well.

Great, thanks! I am thinking about attaching it to the roof rack, but I noticed a few had it attached to the rear door hinge, did they drill thru it or something?
Sorry for the lame question's but before I do it I want to make sure I have seen different styles.
Thanks again!

As far as I know, the ones who had it attached to the rear door hinge either removed their antenna from the their bandi mount and mounted the antenna in it's place or just strapped the flag pole to the antenna itself.
