I'll be dropping the wife off at Seatac for a business trip, and then taking my sons to Ironman.

Enjoy guys, keep the muddy side down, and thanks for taking care of Mother Nature that others so recklessly abandon!

Re: Reiter Trails cleanup May 4th

It was a beautiful day to be out on the trails today, even if it was just to pick up garbage!

Met up with Neil (the Shocker) and Dave (SafetyDave) at McD's in Monroe, and then John (braincell) and Lawrence (yellow Jeep) and another Jeeper friend (Jeremy?) at the parking area a little after 9AM. Note that there were copilots+ with most drivers mentioned, but names are tough when I don't see them on the forums a few times so I'll play it safe.

Arriving at the parking area I was shocked to see the amount of people - I have never before seen that many people and rigs at Reiter. After signing in and a short 411 given over the PA by someone from PNW4WDA, we all grabbed trash bags from the folks distributing them and headed out. There were 4 FJs and 2 Jeeps in our crew, and honestly I think we had the only 4 FJs out of well over 100 rigs (maybe 200?). Not too many exciting photos, but it was a beautiful day and I know I had a great time just being outside and hanging out with friends.

My most exciting find: three DirectTV cable boxes and some computer speakers. Yesss!

Re: Reiter Trails cleanup May 4th

Wow Marsh is right, 100+ rigs, four FJ's. Got lots of looks and a few laughs. At one point people asked if we brought the Jeeps to pull the FJ's out. Felt like we were in the FJ fish bowl. Only one person I heard being was rude about it. It did turn out to be a nice day too!
My first time at Reiter. I have to thank everyone for some great spotting for a first timer. Did a couple runs that I didn't think "The Tick" would handle. I was amazed at how well the rig did, even still using the stock tires!
It was a blast, thx guys! Here are some pic's Jess took.

After the clean up, we did some playing!

Re: Reiter Trails cleanup May 4th

Thanks a bunch for coming out folks.

Believe it or not, that was a "light" amount of trash out there at Reiter. 5 or 6 years ago it was WAY worse.

I meant to stop by and BS with you folks. I saw Marsh and the rest of you as we were headed up to index wall. But we had a guy break his jeep BAD and I spent the better part of the afternoon welding his junk back together.

Our group filled two truck beds with misc junk. We did find a door off a ford bronco with the keys in the lock. That was funny.

We eventually left there around 4:30 or so once we got the broke jeep back on the trailer.

Thanks again for coming out. A really successful event.
