Re: NWFJCC May's Run?, Olallie Lake National Scenic Area & Geocaching
one of the most often overlooked items and probably the most important is a good versital knife. When it comes right down to it a good knife can save your life in more ways than any other single tool. This is to say nothing of the incredible convience of having a cutting tool actually handy when you need it. You will be just fine the group is willing to help out other people. We understand that we are all still aquiring our gear and experience. We also understand that most of the world has to work for a living rather than sit around drooling over 4 wheeling forums :P.

I was thinking about that date. memorial day weekend is one you dont want to be in that area. It is the first weekend that people start getting out to camp etc..., and that area turns into a huge traffic jam for a couple of days. You also will see a whole lot of state troopers out on that weekend just handing out liberal doses of traffic wisdom (see stacks of tickets).
Speaking of camping are any members interested in making this a group camping trip?

This sounds like a great run. I drove parts of it last Fall and the colors were spectacular. I've wanted to return ever since.
Hmm, the Memorial Day weekend may help or hurt turnout, but it's good for me. I'm also out on the 19/20 weekend.
Son, good point about a knife. And a flint. Then watch a few episodes of 'Man vs. Wild' before heading out!
I hadn't thought about it being Memorial day weekend. I was just trying to give the snow a chance to melt. I guess I will cross my fingers and hope that extra day will help turn out.

We might be interested camping. We are always looking for a good excuse to take out the tent trailer. There are a number of campgrounds around Olallie Lake.
