Re: NWFJCC - Group OME Install

Congrats gents. Kudos to the do it yourselfers. It looked like enough work to change out the suspension in a proper auto shop with a lift all the tools in the world and a roof overhead.

Now let's go 4 wheeling.

Re: NWFJCC - Group OME Install

looks great!

Curious as to follow up

1. where you will have alignment done
2. comparison of the ride and handling of the 3 configs (it would be great if, after alignment, you all could get back together and drive each others rigs around and each offer comparison)

Cheers

Sounds like a great idea since they will know the vehicles best after driving around in them with the new setups, the differences they made and how it feels with different rated springs.

Re: NWFJCC - Group OME Install

3 out of 4 ain't bad. I figured you guys were going to be installing lifts until midnight when I found out you were starting at noon. With all the help though, it went real smooth. We finished Bernd's really fast, it surprised even myself. It helps when you have most of the tricks figured out from past experience. I'm a little concerned about SoS's being that squirrely though, make sure everything is seated correctly and everything is put back together and tightened. See you guys out on the trail.

Re: NWFJCC - Group OME Install

So guys, I've got my lift kit sitting in the back of my FJ. I've called a couple of shops, and they both said it's going to take 5 to 6 hours to get it installed. Is this realistic? You said yours was done in 3 hours, and you're not "professionals" so to speak. It seems to me that it shouldn't take that long to do it. They want $84 an hour, plus $80 for the alignment. Thoughts??

I just took mine to Leonard's Offroad in Hillsboro. They did a bunch of other stuff, so not sure how many hrs. were dedicated to just the lift. They took it to another guy to do the allignment but Leonard stayed and supervised. If you are looking to pay someone to do it, I can recommend them very highly. The allignment was $50

5-6 hrs seems high. I was quoted ~2-3 by a shop (LCNW) I think.
