To me 5-6 hours says they have never done one before and need the extra time to figure out what they are doing. If it werent for the time it took for the air/spring compressors we could have been done much faster. That alone nearly doubled the time for the front ends. By the end we could do the rear axle in under 30 min. Of course it helped having a big guy like shane to lean into the axle

Well, I know they haven't done this one specifically, but they do lifts and lowers almost exclusively. They just do it mostly for other shops, dealerships, and stuff like that. He's got all the right equipment, compressors, and a hydraulic lift. So maybe it won't take him as long as he thinks. Here's hoping! I've got to bring it in on my way home tonight, then pick it up tomorrow on the way home.
Now that SOAS has his lift on the SF FJ, there really is no other reasonable choice than to let me babysit his FJ so that it has a "brother" to be parked next to in a carpeted garage at night.

oooo cushy. Make sure she gets plenty of beer. oh and dont let those hummers from up the street talk to her I dont like the way the look at her.
Turns out I went first but Bernd got finished first because Jelopy showed up the share his knowlege and we tried to follow some internet directions.
An alignment is seriously needed now my wheel is off to the left about 10* in order to go straight and the truck darts all over the road at the slightest bump or breeze.
Stop lights are easy to see now. My headlights illuminate them from about 100 feet away so I might need to adjust them a little.
Thanks to all for helping and bringing tools to share. Keep in touch if you find you are missing any. A special thanks to Dbbd1 who came to help selflessly and had to leave before his lift was installed. I wish you had told us what time you needed to go we would have started with yours. Just name a time and we will get out to your place and whip out the install. I think the spring compressors have one more in them. Hopefully. We thought that if you happened to leave the lift in the back and the keys in it we might steal it and return it later, a little taller than before.
Finally the FJ looks the way it should. I really didnt take any pics, sorry. The only injuries of the day were then Bernd decided to hammer his finger instead of the wrench and when the tree tried to kill Jelopy. Man the look on his face was priceless.
Thanks again to all.
Vorpal is driving smooth and as straight as an arrow. I know I should still get an alignment. I desperately need to align my headlights. My PIAA headlights now shine directly into peoples back windows. I have been flash more than once now, and it is not woman in overcoats either
I feel really bad about not getting to David's FJ. Although he allowed us to make all the mistakes on our rigs, and now gets all the combined knowledge when we work on his.
Yeah... That tree had it in for Jelopy. I wish I had caught that look on film.
