Thanks Dragon for setting this up for us. Thanks to Bernd for spearheading this idea.
Yes, we have our own website and we have our own private forum at
Northwest FJ Cruiser Club. So, why are we here on the fjcruiserforums (blue forum)?
Because this is where we all found each other nearly two years ago. Our club exists because we met here on the blue forum. The NWFJCC was formed on this forum so it could not be more appropriate to recognize our birthplace. Thanks to everyone here at FJCruiser Forums for your support. We appreciate it.
We use our own forum to conduct club business and such. The Northwest FJ Cruiser Club is (at this time) a free-of-cost gathering of folks that live in the Northwest (mostly) that enjoy our FJs and using them for what they were designed for. Off-road wheeling and adventuring.
Our philosophy on 4-wheeling is to get out, get dirty, have fun, be kind to the trails we run (Tread-Lightly) and meet some awesome people. I have been involved in a few clubs over the years, but FJ owners are just super-friendly people.
During the summer we had a great outing at Brown's Camp with a family from California. We have members from all over the US, but yes, most are from the Great Pacific Northwest. We are based in Vancouver, Washington. The majority of our members are from the Vancouver/Portland area and from all over Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Olympia, WA to Seattle, to Marysville, to British Columbia.
We do not restrict our runs to FJ-only owners. We run with anyone who wheels with respect. Jeep, pickups, whatever. All our larger runs are family events. Kids, parents, grandparents, dogs, etc. We love families!
The NWFJCC is also a teaching club. When we have large runs we will split up into three groups: Hard Core, Advanced and Beginner groups. We love teaching new FJ owners to discover what their vehicle can do. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing the face of a new FJ owner who made it through a difficult obstacle.
Our club has several contacts with local vendors that offer special deals and discounts to our members. As the club grows, so does our power of negotiating. Many times on our major club runs there are prizes and giveaways. We recently had a Saturday gathering at Metal Tech that was a day full of fun and a plethora of education regarding on-trail repairs and more. And yes, more is planned.
As the summer is usually very busy for most of us, the majority of our major club runs are druing the fall, winter and early spring. Most of us have families and kids that play soccer, baseball and other summer sports.
So look here, and to our website for some exciting announcements for some killer runs, adventures, events and gatherings over this coming season!
