Valleys of Neptune

Bought this yesterday and am blown away, can't stop listening to it. Can't believe that someone has been sitting on these tracks since 1970 and not released them before now. Even the versions of songs that you may already have are outstanding. Your life will be meaningless and hollow until you buy this album. Jimi was a guitar god, the likes of which we will never see again.

Re: Valleys of Neptune

I know, they released it last week. WHERE has it been all these years and what were they thinking?

Remember the Isle of White concerts as the 60's drew to a close -- Jimi and Cross-eyed Johnny Winter melting guitars?

Re: Valleys of Neptune

I had some old live/ bootleg LP's that had some of his later realeased music on it. It seemed you could sneak a glimpse of who he was in his concerts. His style was changing to a more jazz/ blues feel and his producers kept him in a cage only doing what they thought would sell their records. A lot of talent lost. May his music last forever...

Just read the lyrics to a "Room full or mirrors" and you can actually hear and feel his pain in the song. Best version is on an old BBC live recording- They have now on itunes.
