Nag took offense to my defense of an American citizen. A non-white American, I should say. But like he said.. the Ignore function is a dandy!

Of course this is all speculation since we weren't there... but from what I understand this guy was in a car, and crazy guy is outside with a knife. What's he going to do, stab through your car? You're saying that someone coming within 30 feet of your car with a knife when you're inside it should automatically be shot? That sounds a little insane, sorry.
If they're both out of their vehicles, different story... brandishing a gun in that situation seems reasonable. If the crazy guy continues running at you despite your obviously having a gun - that's also a different story.
Crazy guy's behavior is not acceptable, no one would say that. Nor am I being anti-gun here, your comments just struck me as a little Rambo. I hadn't noticed the post about running him over, though for some reason I'm more OK with that.
Couple of thoughts, though I'm not in AZ. Here in TX, brandishing a gun is against the law. Self-defense is not. I was taught from the time I was a little girl, anyone coming at you with a knife, gun, or other deadly weapon has the guts to use it. Self-defense may not only save your life, you could be saving someone else's life that this guy could have attacked down the line.
Someone with that kind of anger problem that they are willing to COME AT someone else with a knife, is definitely a loose cannon and there's no telling what he's capable of doing. Thoughts that come to mind, he gets YOUR tag # and comes to find you later when you're not in your vehicle. But I digress.
Needless to say, I have an awesome life, and I WILL be defending it.

I know this is way off-topic, but tonight my wife and i were driving with our 18mo old twin girls, coming back from hiking at Sabino Canyon (TUcson, AZ). An FJ tailgated my wife like you wouldn't believe, and tried to run us off the road. When we came to a red light, he crossed the double line and then got in front of us an slammed on the brakes. He got out of his car and charged us with knife screaming "THE SPEED LIMITS 40 MPH!!!" and cursing his head off. I told him I was calling the cops and he speed off. When I spoke with the cops, they told me it was a 'he said - he said' and they couldn't do anything about it. (That's the Pima County Sheriffs for ya)
So, anybody know a middle aged white guy with a goatee and anger issues driving a blue FJ with AZ plates 457-XAL? People like that give FJ'ers a bad name, and if the cops aren't going to do something about it, maybe someone on here knows who he is.
It's a long shot, but it's all i can think to do.
Thanks,
DFJ
First I am licensed to carry and do. Secondly I know using it can mean going to prison and financial ruin if bad judgment is used. And sometimes it can mean the same even when appropriate judgment is used depending on where you are and who you get for judge/jury. Screwed up? Yes, but sometimes the victim becomes the victim again in the court system so keep that in mind.
I think there is a lot more to this story because it does not make sense. Not excusing brandishing a knife or any of the behavior, there is just more to why this man behaved in such an unacceptable way.
Lastly, I would not have been in this position because as soon as this man started tailgating me and acting crazy I would have told my wife to let him pass. Should I have to? No, but I have pulled over for a second in the past and let a-holes pass because if makes the issue of tailgater and irritant go away immediately. And then everyone goes on their way. Instead they dealt with this guy on their ass and acting all crazy with the 18 mo old girls in the car. Who is crazy?

I almost learned this law the hard way: If you even just get out of your car during a "confrontation", you can be arrested and charged with terroristic threats. Think about that the next time you wanna jump out your car in anger and get all retard strong on someone.
