Angry AZ FJ owner pulled a knife on me, wife, kids. Need your help

I know this is way off-topic, but tonight my wife and i were driving with our 18mo old twin girls, coming back from hiking at Sabino Canyon (TUcson, AZ). An FJ tailgated my wife like you wouldn't believe, and tried to run us off the road. When we came to a red light, he crossed the double line and then got in front of us an slammed on the brakes. He got out of his car and charged us with knife screaming "THE SPEED LIMITS 40 MPH!!!" and cursing his head off. I told him I was calling the cops and he speed off. When I spoke with the cops, they told me it was a 'he said - he said' and they couldn't do anything about it. (That's the Pima County Sheriffs for ya)

So, anybody know a middle aged white guy with a goatee and anger issues driving a blue FJ with AZ plates 457-XAL? People like that give FJ'ers a bad name, and if the cops aren't going to do something about it, maybe someone on here knows who he is.

It's a long shot, but it's all i can think to do.

Thanks,
DFJ

wow! first off glad all of you are safe! second, that dood should thank his lucky stars you didn`t take that knife away and shove it up his pooper! way to many asshats in this world, would have served him right if your foot slipped of the gas and taken him out... ooops one less idiot...
I don`t understand why you can sign a complaint, you have his plate #, and a witness...

Dude's got anger issues.

If the cops aren't going to do anything what are you planning to do if you get info on him?

Whoa nelly. Hopefully some of the AZFJers know who it is and have a "talk" with him.

It is because of ***holes like that, that I carry a razor sharp 8" hunting knife mounted driver side handle above the window and my 4dcell mag light mounted under my set both easy to grab while in the drivers seat.

Anywhere inside of 30 feet and charging at you w/ a knife gets you shot, period. End of Story.

AZ is open carry right?

Advise my friends, anytime $hit like this starts to develop, turn the video camera ON on your phone. Even if it's not pointed at the "event", it's still got sound being recorded.

I'm checking locally to see if anyone knows who this is .
We just had a road rage where a FJ driver shot/killed another driver.
I think he may be in trouble, cause his story ain't adding up. He was arrested for 2nd degree murder,

Yea that sounds a lot better than the guy just leaving and nothing happening... kinda sounds like the ***hole in the blue FJ follows a similar philosophy, his something like "anyone who doesn't drive the way I like gets threatened with a knife, period. End of story."

I think I'd take another go at the sheriff's department -- maybe with a different deputy. It doesn't sound like "he said, he said" if you have a witness, which you do.

Just out of curiousity -- I can't see how it matters to your story, but was the speed limit 40 and were you going faster or slower?

TT
