I too, just read this post - As a father of two grown boys - I cannot imagine the pain and sorrow that you must be going through. Your family has my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. God Bless.

Thank you... It's great having so many people
that care being around, and offering so much...

It seems that all the time, when me and Kathy
are together, or with Alex, or our older girls,
we are constantly reminded of Ben in one way
or another, good things, and memories, but it
also hurts, cause no one else can see these
wonderful things that we saw in him...

Ya know, it goes back to the same thing "if I
only had known, or had more time"... I just pray
that we will see him again, somehow, someway...

Re: The passing of a son...

So, I went out Wheeling here in Jersey Sunday, it
was Me and our youngest, Alex(11)... Alex ran the
GPS and Sat' images on the laptop, mapping our
travels while I did the driving... It was a good day
of fun, and we headed home that night...

The next morning, My wife opens up the laptop (it's
hers) and turns it on, she calls me over in tears and
has me watch this video she found on her desktop...

Alex had created the video while we were wheeling...
Alex has not really shown much emotion since Ben's
passing, but I guess he too morns in his own way
and see the hurt that his mom feels too !...

Re: The passing of a son...

Bandi, I'm so sorry for your loss.

I lost my sister 2 years ago to an auto accident (2-6-06). Her Grand Cherokee was T-Boned by a F-250 going 45mph on her way to work. She had a 5 year old son who luckily wasn't in the car with her that morning. They airlifted her to the hospital and she went into emergency surgery.

All our local family sat at her side in the ICU when she got out of surgery. The doctors gave her a 10% chance to survive but I think they just said that out of pity. She never regained consciousness and her blood pressure and heart rate slowly declined until shortly after 10PM when it went flat. Just like on TV.

I don't have children but she was the closest thing I had to a child, my little sister. Every time I see my nephew I see a part of her which makes me both happy and sad.

I truly hurt for you, I can't imagine the load you're bearing. When times are their lowest just think about how much worse it would be for your family without a strong leader and provider. As for the whole faith thing, I hope mine is fully restored some day. I miss it. As of now the best medicine for me has been time. The first year was brutal, second was slightly less brutal. I too try to keep the thoughts at bay so I can get through my daily life but every now and then a picture will pop up on a screen saver and I'm toast for a few hours.

Stay strong and take care. When times are bad be the kind of person he would want you to be.

Matt

Matt, I am sorry to hear about your sister, that
is a horrible loss, and I feel for you and your
nephew, I can't imagine how people get through
this kind of thing, when I cannot yet to even
think about it or try figure it out in my mind with
out breaking down into tears... I go day to day
forcing myself not to think about my son... I do
slip and then tear up at least once a day, but still
continue on... I, like you, look ahead till the day
my faith is restored, but as of now, it's still too
much to process...

Thanks Much Asaf'... I do appreciate it !... he was
a one of a kind that is for sure... We could hardly
believe the turnout at our church for his services,
it was standing room only, as Father John Said at
his funeral, "For a young person to command such
a presence of the hundreds of people here today,
it is a sign the awesome life he lived !!!"... "Its not
how long you Live, Its How you Live it !!!"...
