Whaddupwidat Louisiana?

On Nov. 7, some folks in Louisiana petitioned the White House to peaceably withdraw their state from the Union.

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/pet...nment/1wrvtngl

Should I get my passport in order?

23116 signatures as of 2224 hrs. on 11/12/12.
Make that 23312 @ 2225 hrs.

The goal is 25000 by 12/07/12.

Re: Whaddupwidat Louisiana?

I was told South Carolina did the same thing...along with several other states!

Many other states actually. Texas, obviously, I know Oregon and Georgia were some others.

Wow. You're not kidding. And it's not North vs. South. It's everywhere.

Re: Whaddupwidat Louisiana?

People have been making requests like these for years. Hell, even Todd Palin came up with the idea for Alaska one night while tweezing Sarah's landing strip.

410 signatures to regulate Internet porn. Some people have their priorities f'd up, mang.

Re: Whaddupwidat Louisiana?

over half the country voted obama back in that's effed up! now the other half is saying survive on less hours, less pay or laid off. i bet they didn't see that coming.. and all the ones who want to boycott certain businesses are just going to cause more unemployment. it's a lose lose situation with a hint of sweet justice!! yet they are all going to need a lot more signatures, no state is even close..

Re: Whaddupwidat Louisiana?

Texas, Louisiana and Alabama already hit the 25,000 signature threshold to pass the petition. Now it's off to the POTUS!

I'm guessing Obama will deny the petition and then what...it goes to the state to decide?

That's here. You probably wouldn't believe me if I told you how fast it happened.
