Who gives a Phuck about bob costats,,,,, I can't believe folk on this forum have no regard for life.

carry on as normal ...
LOL @ this comment. Man has always been thinking of more efficient and clever ways to kill. From human sacrafices to spray foam in someones throat, we will always be on the search for a better killing method. Remember guy, we are animals at the end of the day. True savages we are. If you're trying to forget that, well, I am sorry for you.

Back on topic, favorite form of murder is from the Zetas. Cut the intestines out and hang the snitches by then. Pretty brutal, but totally animalistic.

Don't go to Hidden Falls Adventure Park.

One of my favorites was used by the Apache Indians. They would stretch a person out and stake them down to the ground face up. Then they would slit the persons gut and use a stick to pull out a portion of intestines and stake them into the ground a few feet away so the poor fella could watch the Apaches dogs feast on his entrails until death. Brutal!

Re: How to kill a person without a gun. Help make a list..

societies back in the Roman era were pretty good at killing people....feeding them to lions....the whole cross thing....stripping all your skin off tying you to a post and letting the animals insects and infection slowly kill you.....i'll take a shot to the head over any of that....amazing how civilized firearm death really is.....

this one should do the trick.....

Re: How to kill a person without a gun. Help make a list..

Best post of this whole string! I love RAGE!

As has been stated, killers will find a way, and to trying to project or assume some sort of rational thought patterns have influence on a person who is violent and aggressive enough to take innocent lives is beyond silly. Someone who is able to get to that dark and disturbed place emotionally is not thinking in the same reality that the rest of us want to live.

Theoretical arguments aside, the reality we have is hundreds of millions of guns in the hands of both legal and illegal gun owners, and any legislation, regardless of how well drafted, can only affect the number of guns on one side of that equation, which inherently hurts the law abide-rs more than the criminals.

What if we take a look at the value our society places on violence in general. UFC, NFL, video games, and most action movies not only tolerate, but celebrate violence to a degree that should be disturbing but we have all become desensitized to it. We repeatedly declare our approval and desire for more and MORE of it when we give them our consumer dollars.

Want to see something change!? Go look where you spend your money and how much can be tied to our culture of violence and start there.

If you are not willing to change your behaviors then quit whining when one of our paid warriors uses too much of the violence and aggression he is loved and valued for in a context you do not like, because effectively you paid him for it.

interesting that gun deaths keep getting larger in percentage even as gun bans grow..

Murder Victims, by Weapons Used — Infoplease.com

guns may lead but other weapons are out there...

FBI — Table 20

.
These are really great sources of data that provide a pretty clear picture.

Total murders go up and down (High of 23K in 1993 and only 13k in 2010) but the ratio of firearms used seems to hold pretty steady in the 68-70%.
So for instance in 2010 8.7K murders with firearms and 6K of those with handguns. I do not think anyone can argue with a straight face that if we pass some anti handgun laws that those 6K murders will go away... they will simply shift over to a new category, or will be carried out with the illegal handguns.

I do wish we had data on how many of the weapons used in murders were properly registered and therefor controllable by proposed legislation vs how many were stolen borrowed or otherwise illegally obtained. Arguably the larger the proportion of murders using these illegal weapons, the smaller the potential decrease in murders by restricting firearms.
