Buy 'em before they're banned!

Saw this today...

President Barack Obama issued a video response Friday to a petition on the White House website calling for the stricter gun control measures in the wake of last week's mass shooting in Newtown, Conn.

I'll bet he ignores the ones petitioning against bans though, the schmuck!

"Like the majority of Americans, I believe that the Second Amendment guarantees an individual right to bear arms," Obama said in the video. "It's encouraging that many gun owners have stepped up this week to say there are steps we can take to prevent more tragedies like the one in Newtown."

Yeah, Barry, like keeping them out of the hands of whackos, you dolt! But instead of that, you'll punish law-abiding citizens, sportsmen and gun manufacturers instead.

Obama continued: "Here's what I think we should do. This week I called on Congress to take up and pass common-sense legislation that has the support of the majority of the American people, including banning the sale of military-style assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition clips, and making sure criminals can't take advantage of legal loopholes to get their hands on a gun."

Hey, moron, most criminals acquire guns privately. Known whackos acquire them from ignorant, irresponsible family members, as in the case of Adam Lanza and his idiot mother, or were allowed to purchase them as whackos. No, no, no....that can't be right. They were sweet people, if only a little strange. The gun did the killing. We can't consider the fact that his idiot mommy didn't take into account that her son was well beyond odd, and should probably secure the guns, or, better yet, not have them anywhere near him, as in not in the house. Way to go, mom. Because you were so irresponsible, kids are dead and individual freedoms are on the way out.

The gun control petition, which had close to 200,000 signatures as of Friday morning, is the most popular effort ever championed on the White House's "We The People" platform.

Oh sure, no doubt! Lots of grandmas and Birkenstock-wearing wimps chimed in on that one!

"The goal of this petition is to force the Obama Administration to produce legislation that limits access to guns," reads the petition, launched hours after a gunman killed 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School. "While a national dialogue is critical, laws are the only means in which we can reduce the number of people murdered in gun related deaths."

Really? How does that happen? Well, Barry, if you say laws keep criminals in check, and prohibits whackos borne from a weak DNA source from shooting people up, well....OK, I'll buy that logic. I mean, only ten rounds at a time, right? Makes sense to me! That'll add 2 seconds of downtime to the killer's dastardly deeds.

Petitions on the White House website must pass a threshold of 25,000 signatures in order to warrant a response from the administration. The gun control petition quickly blew past that threshold, and on Monday overtook a submission asking Obama to allow Texas to secede from the union.

And I'll bet way better than half of them don't own guns of any sort, don't like guns of any sort, and don't want people to enjoy their 2nd Amendment rights to keep and bear arms, either. I could propose, on the same web site, that the government give each and every citizen one dollar, and within a week that sucker will have 150 million signatures.

In his response, Obama called on the petitioners to contact their representatives in Congress to support tougher gun measures.

"If there's even one thing we can do as a country to protect our children, we have a responsibility to try," Obama said.

OK, Barry, but what about the 1.2 million abortions provided every year, Barry? Those murders, Barry...the ones you and your followers fully support? Here, Barry, you support legal murder, like this...

Total number of abortions in the U.S. 1973-2011: 54.5 million+

234 abortions per 1,000 live births (according to the Centers for Disease Control)
Abortions per year: 1.2 million
Abortions per day: 3,288
Abortions per hour: 137
9 abortions every 4 minutes
1 abortion every 26 seconds

And that's just surgical and medical abortions. You gun-hating liberals crack me up! I guess if you can't place a somewhat developed face to the murder victim, then everything's hunky-dory, right? I mean hell, he-she-it didn't even have a name yet.

I fully expect a ban on certain weapons to pass soon. I don't know how this will affect those who already own semi-auto AR-15s or the like. Will you be required to surrender them? Will they be grandfathered in as illegal to own and you'll soon be receiving a knock on your door from the ATF?

Our Oregon liberal-prick Governor Kitzhaber has a full-on erection and is ready to sign a bill banning certain weapons in the state, and if he could, ALL weapons.

One of the few freedoms we have left that were provided by our founding fathers is slowly but surely getting peeled away. Punish the responsible! Ignore the whackos and their access to weapons! Soon, the only people with weapons will be local law enforcement and the government, and that truly scares the hell out of me, because we all know how crazy many of them are.

Don't get me wrong. I feel terrible for those kids, adults and their survivors, but gun bans won't solve the problem. Responsible people don't commit violence like this. Whackos do. That's what needs to be focused upon. Whackos, and their access to firearms of ANY sort.

An unarmed militia. Gee, imagine that. WTF?

I'm just pissed, whatever.

Re: Buy 'em before they're banned!

You can't find AR's out there anyway, maybe at gouge prices, same for high cap mags, too!

Feinstein has said "prohibit the sale, transfer, and posession", so posession means no grandfathering?

When idiot Obama and his staff get their way and that assault rifle ban takes affect, I would assume those who already own them would be grandfathered in. If they try and ban them across the bored with out offering some type of compensation to current owners they will have an issue to deal with. I don't think Americans will roll over and give them up so freely, we'll I'd hope they wouldn't. I fear this is the 1st step in Americans losing their constitutional rights. Once they modify the 2nd amendment it'll only be a mater of time till they push to ban all weapons. Once the 2nd amendment is gone, it's easier for Obama and his staff of cowards to push the ban of other amendments, probably starting with the freedom of speech. That's my 2 cents

The government is disarming citizens at an alarming rate. I'm starting to wonder how much state sponsored terrorism there is out there just to push agendas and legislature.

Re: Buy 'em before they're banned!

What makes me sick is how many people say they will stand up for their rights and they will not give up their guns. Anybody remember what happened in Katrina. Sad, but the very people sworn in to protect us went door to door taking guns away. There was no uprising at all. I sure hope that isn't the case if and when it happens again.
