Y'all help me make Allen's mind up!

Today Sandabbe and I went to Point Vincente light house in Palos verdes Ca. As Sand and I were marveling at the sunset, drinking wine and eating chocolate, Allen and his dad came up to the FJ and were looking(OK druling)at it. I went and said hello and started answering all their questions about the FJ and showing them all they wanted to see. Allen told me that he was trying to make up his mind between the FJ and the Rubicon(after seeing the FJ his father wanted him to buy the FJ.). I told him that out of the box the Rubi was a little better offroad than the FJ, but the FJ was better in day to day driving. BUT that the FJ, with a little work could be better than the Rubi. Allen said that he knew this and he knew that the FJ has better torque.
Anyway long story short, he said that he DOES visit this site! We need to make his mind up!(Allen if you see this you need to log in and tell us your watching!)
NOW IT'S YOUR TUN TO MAKE HIS MIND UP FOR HIM!!!GO FOR IT!

Re: Y'all help me make Allen's mind up!

i was actually waiting for heep to release the rubi 4dr's in july, i decided thats what i wanted. Then in florida, at hoooters in daytona, just outside the raceway, i saw a voodo blu fj.

I was like wow, i remembered the auto show years before, and i remembered petersons magazine talking about a few years ago, but didn't know they (toyota) were making it.

after looking at how little all my vehicles offroad compared to on road time, and how crappy the heeps interior and hp was, my mind was made up.
Just like why my last truck was a chevy 3/4 ton, instead of a ford 3/4 ton.

Re: Y'all help me make Allen's mind up!

i wanted one for 2 reasons i fit (6' 9" 375lbs) and its looks (im shallow so what) i saw the fj at the la auto show so i came home and did my research

i learned of toyotas comitment to quality called iso 9001 , i learned the what owners of the original fjs saw in there rigs stability dependability design quality

fast forward about 6 months ago i took one for a test drive knowing i couldnt afford it i fell in love it was powerful fun quirky tough dependable

so i scrounged and i sweated doing anything i could to own one i even went hungry to save up cash and i now own one my friends love it my gf tries to steal it from me

i tried to find a reason not to buy one and i couldnt ive never regretted it once and im a very frugal man and i live a simple life

so do your self a favor take it for a drive and see why i feel in love with mine

It's such a great vehicle to have. You'll want to go out and drive it everyday and you'll never regret getting it over a jeep.

Plus you get to join this forum and look at NoisyCow's avatar all the time!!!

Re: Y'all help me make Allen's mind up!

Tell him I just traded a 2006 Rubicon for my FJ.
The Heep quality isnt even in the same ballpark as the FJ's.

Re: Y'all help me make Allen's mind up!

Jeeps get pretty annoying day to day due to their on road ride-and being honest that is what you do the most. I haven't driven the 4 door Rubi and perhaps the longer wheel base will help the ride on road but ??? The 4 door Rubi being underpowered has been mentioned in every test I've read-no problem with power in the FJC.
