going to flight school next year for some of them Army UH -60 L's almost the same thing as the MH-60 you probably have a cooler sound system like the FJ Jammer and stuff.. haha...
I'm going to Daytona For Memorial Day ( Military Discount at the Hilton Daytona Beach ) 99 a night versus 170 regular around that price range.
I'll be driving my bad ass 2WD Sun Fusion down there. Hopefully I'll still have a windshield left when i get back to Atlanta.
After all the stuff the riggers did for us (they don't just do chutes) I had to buy a sewing machine after I got out cause I was too used to "we need this on this pack" mentality. Now I modify just about every piece of gear I buy. Burned up my first machine and had to break down and buy a heavy duty one
I know what you mean, I did so much modding of tactical gear and tool pouches between working with EOD, and running a squadron paraloft, that I feel like BlackHawk and London Bridge owe ME money!

How do you like Pensacola? I keep trying to talk my wife into moving there. Some of my Nav friends live down there.
Stange town, really. AMAZING BEACHES!!! But no surfing This place is STILL recoiling from Hurricanes Ivan and Dennis two seasons ago. There are places that STILL look like a war zone.
Great history - NAS Pensacola is the oldest continuously manned military post in all of the Americas! Although it is home to the Blue Angels and is the cradle of naval aviation, it's not really a "Navy Town" like I was used to in Jacksonville.

Don't know who's right but, I have been to both and the chow hall @ P'cola is amazing. They have all kinds of DV's (for the Angels) in & out of there all the time and boy can those boys cook! Used to have to go up there to FCF the birds coming out of the SLEP line & ferry them back to Hurby (choice duty if you could get it).

When I make it up there again perhaps we can hook up for a trip to Meguires! K
Freakin' Army! Let's get them to pull their hands out of their pockets and do the math Barney-Style with all the fingers:
West Point, built 1778
Fort San Carlos de Austria (now NAS Pensacola), built 1698.
Hmmmm... (one, three, seven, carry the six-) 80 years earlier!!!!
Now, it's true, West Point has only been ruled by one Nation during it's tenure, and maybe that's why they think they're so damned special. Ya know what I say? BORING!
On the other hand, P'cola has been under the rule of Spain, France, Great Britain, the USA, and the Confederacy (the last of which had to give it back). Hence the region is known as the "Five Flags" area.

This post has been the most endearing of all I have read since joining the forum last year. There are many geat Americans here.........I, as a vet myself salute all of you, and thank you for the service you have provided, and the sacrifices you have and will make for the freedoms we most all take for granted.
Retired: USAF 10 years; Air Nat'l Guard 12 years; Vietnam vet, and proud of it!; Father US Navy Chief Petty Officer, WWII; Son 7 years US Army, 101st Airborne, 2 tours in Iraq (26 miles from Bagdad the 1st tour - shoulda got the bastard the first time) and nuked what was left!
