My girlfriend bought me an IPOD...which is uber-swank...I could never justify buying it for myself...
anyone know any tips or tricks of this thing..seems kinda complicated....I'm not a techno whizbag like Bostonian and his kind
PS....how do I turn the seatbelt chime off of the ipod ANd can you sleep in it
I finally got one maybe three weeks ago. I wouldn't go so far as to say, "How did I ever live without this???" like I did when I finally got a DVR, but it is pretty slick and I am glad I bought one.

LOL, same here - my wife bought me one for my birthday. I'm the oldest guy around with an ipod. Download itunes from Apple, hook up the ipod to your USB port, and start putting CD's in your computer drive and itunes will pretty much automatically load them on your ipod. Beyond that, and downlaoding songs from itunes, I just set the thing on "shuffle" and let it play randomly. I have no idea what else it will do or how to do it. Another thing, when you plug it into the FJammer aux port, turn the volume on the ipod all the way up.

LOL, I'm so addicted to my IPOD now that I've turned around to go home when I've forgotten it even 5 or 6 miles out.
I use my IPod more than my cell phone..computer..pretty much any other technical gadget.
You don't need any special adapter...a USB cable comes with your IPod...just plug it in the IPod and the other end in a USB port of a computer.
Itunes is really simple, and really good at keeping everything organized and up to date...it's really the brains behind the operation.
I don't know how you feel about downloading songs...but after you have loaded all your CD's and you want some more music...you have 2 options..download through Itunes..where its about the same price as buying the CD at a store...but I guess without getting up and going to get it....or downloading it..another way haha. If you need help with getting a program to download music, I have LimeWirePro..I downloaded it for free, and I can email it to you or whatever, and you'll be on your way to downloading as many videos/music/movies as you want.
What kind of Ipod is it?
I would definitely recommend a case..or skin...check out Got iPod?. Get iSkin.
the skin on my ipod has saved the screen and click wheel from really getting jacked up whenever I drop it, and normal wear and tear/dust/dirt.
you only need to 'upgrade' itunes when the music store stops working
the dice ipod integration thing is a gimmick
videos take a lot of space and are a pain to convert to the right format
don't use the EQ, it's worthless
the battery replacement plan is a crock, do it yourself
get a case for it
8-13% of ipods are pieces of ****, and fail within the first year.
and apple users are full of it, so they falsely elevate the status of the products on consumer surveys--so don't be surprised if the actual items fail to live up to the hype.
