as a pre-post, I hereby declare with the power of my seniority, Mr. Coon of Brunswick Automart in Ohio to be the only dealer out of many to back up his, "Yeah, we can get that for you" speech. I thank him tremendously.
As well, I thank all the members of this community who have taken what was a hobby and provided the catalyst for a full-blown obsession. If it is possible to like the FJ even more now then this is undoubtedly the case. Thank you Mr. Nishimura and Toyota.
So guess what?
This morning I had the urge to fly to Ohio. I live in DC.
The flight attendant was very polite.
I would soon learn that politeness is a way of life in Ohio, not a freak occurrence. Within ten minutes of landing at least five people welcomed me to middle America.
They have paper planes in the Ohio airport. For emergencies, I imagine.
The only person who wasn't really nice (I'll assume he wasn't from Ohio) was this man. He was in front of me as we walked past the paper airplanes and passed gas. The image is shaky because the sheer magnitude of his effort caused a tremor.
This map quickly teaches newcomers that Ohio is the center of the world
Yeah, I seriously flew to Cleveland
The first glimpse of FJ!!!!!!!!!!! As you can see he still had running boards and was without a tow hitch. This would soon be remedied.
Rock rails on. This was after my test drive. To say I am enthusiastic about the FJ is to say nothing at all. I am entirely infatuated.
It is an all-together infrequent occurrence when something or someone, especially when it is as hyped up in one's mind as the FJ was in mine after so much anticipation,
exceeds expectations! Phenomenal car!!! Exudes quality in every possible way. The TRD exhaust did not come in (I was told August 9th since they are all on back order). However, even without it, the FJ has an incredibly throaty sound. It is powerful, athletic, HUGE, fun to drive, and the stick shift... Short throws. Excellent.
Then they were kind enough to wash FJ.
And so I was off, back to DC. Here I present the first airborne casualty of my journey.
For your artistic pleasure I present: "Sunset Rest Area"
As a slight aside, I would like to point out definitively that "Roy Rogers" is the finest dinning in the United States of America. Two words: fixin's bar.
Fireball chasing me
I went where da XM don't shine
FJ sleeps.
