I've spent more on items trying NOT to get one (USB drives, thumb drives, DVDs for videos and music)....
Evil, but no more scratched CDs to fly at passengers heads!

What an amazing coincidence...I got a 30 gig iPod yesterday and have spent the better part of the last 24 hours doing just that! No fun indeed...

There's a checkbox in iTunes prefs that will eject the CD after import, and also one to auto import when a CD is inserted. With those 2 prefs, you can drop in a CD, close the tray and walk away, come back later after the CD spits out, and drop in another one......rinse, repeat.
Still tedious, but a lot less babysitting.
