but to add, there is a lot of truth to that article. if one was to eat lower on the food chain, it would eliminate the need to use up land just to feed cows who become beef. if i remember correctly, it takes 10 pounds of grain to yield one pound of beef. yes, land is more readily available, but it's easily being consumed up faster for grain production & cow space. i could be wrong, but it seems like a stretch of land in central california has been extended 2x as much as it once was, used specifically for cow containment (Coalinga, CA).
