Into the Wild
So, as a teenager in high school I read a book and it really changed my life. It was "Into the Wild" by Jon Krakauer.
Afew weeks ago me and the Mrs were looking on Fandango for a movie to go see. I randomly saw the title and got the heebie-jeebies.
Sean Penn directed this movie and did a damn good job at it too.
I highly recommend everyone to go out and at least watch the movie. The movie was very complimentary of the book and barely swayed away from the topic, unlike many book to movie movies.
So my point---GO OUT AND READ THIS BOOK OR WATCH THE MOVIE. I can guarantee that you will be moved by this story. I read the book cover to cover in a few days. Then i read it again. I just couldnt stop reading it, it was mesmerizing.
ps- Pearl Jam front man Eddie Vedder wrote the soundtrack for this movie and it is also truely amazing.

Which is why I won't go see it. The book by John Krakauer is very good though.
Back in the 70's, I spent a winter camping on the North Slope and the Beaufort Sea, but we had good food flown in on a regular basis and hence didn't end up like what's-his-name in the book.

I read this book when I was living in Alaska working for the USGS. I've had mixed emotions about seeing the movie. I probably will tho...when I can rent it.
Road trip out here? You can help us move, and I will pay for your ticket, I found a theater here playing it.......
If it wasn't boregofest weekend I would go out there.
