Didn't they say the same thing about Y2K? Of course, now the end of the world is going to come when I turn 62 and, assuming it's still in existence, when I'm finally eligible for Social Security

Do you beleive? Im not looking to argue with anyone just seeing if people beleive in it. The fact is their are many people who predicted the year 2012 as the final year. I am not saying to beleive just to research because knowledge is power.
All send my mind into thinking mode which I don't see bad.
As far as 'the end', I'm not sure about that... anything is possible. I think half the problem today is that people don't take the time and actually think about things bigger than themselves, or think 'outside the box'... people stick to the norm, or what is 'safe', and whenever change approaches them, they run... so in regard to accepting and preparing for 'the end', I don't think anyone will buy this date, and they will see it all as hype
Knowing what I know in regard to other cultures, such as the Native American culture, they hold a higher regard to nature/life/world and have this almost magical way of seeing/predicting things and just knowing things that the ordinary man doesn't. If you've ever been to a pow wow, you 'get it', and it is amazing (it was part of a college assignment several years ago, and since then I've been intrigued by the culture). Those people are so intertwined with the world around them that it is amazing. I could see how they could know things we don't, such as 'the end.'
I have seen pieces on Nostradamus and to a point, I could see how he possibly predicted things. Although I have seen how his quatrains (sp?) have been largely misconstrued and stretched to fit someone's ideologies. I think, for the most part, that what he told of were jumbled visions, not necessarily truth.
I think that overall, there are people in this world, past and present, that just know things... that can see into the future- how do you explain mediums/psychics/etc that clearly aren't lying/full of b.s.?... there are things in this world that happen that you can't explain- as if something bigger is governing us (and I'm not getting into that/religion/aliens/etc )...
Do I believe that 12/21/12 is 'the end'? Highly doubt it (although some days I wish it were tomorrow ), but just in case, I'm stuffing myself with chocolate covered cherries & cheesecake & going skydiving in Australia on the day before... ya know, just in case
"The one absolutely unselfish friend that man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous, is his dog. . . .He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer; he will lick the wounds and sores that come in encounter with the roughness of the world. . . .When all other friends desert, he remains." --- George G Vest
Why even worry about it. Just make sure your soul is prepared. Live a life of rightousness. Do the right thing and choose the right. I'm not worried. I know one day it will end and we are in the final hour or home strech. But I don't think that, that many people all predicted the same day for the same reason. All i can suggest is prepare for the end as if it were tomorrow and be glad if you make it through the next 2 days. By that I mean that it did not happen like thought. Good luck.

You know this date was adopted because it is the end of the Mayan Calendar. Does that mean it's truly going to be the end of time? Who knows. All I know from past experience is how much I worried, and prepared for, the big Y2K thing and nothing happened. What that taught me was you can only worry about the present and not what might happen years from now.
LOL. Well the "Amanda Calendar" ends on 12/31/07. Guess I'm screwed. Nice knowing you guys!
Im not saying to beleive, just asking, I find it interesting thats all.

This is most disconcerting.
That means that the 2011 model year FJ Cruiser will be the last to be sold and that it will be a collector's item. So what you're telling me is that I need to trade in the SCORPION for another FJ in four short years?
That will break my FJ's little heart.
en ce qui me concerne au bout du monde qu'est-ce que j'en ai à faire?

Their has been many guesses about the 'end of days', but I guess if you guess enough times, your bound to get it right at least once!
True. Our Star is middle aged. It cannot last forever (probably longer than 2012 though!). Earth will not be a pretty place when the Sun is in its final stages.
