Other than the coolness factor. Why would you need 1 million rounds down range in a minute? The cost involved would be crazy expensive. Nice video BTW.

Don't confuse number of rounds with rate of fire. Each time that weapon fired 180 rounds. The rate of fire changed and went up to 1,000,000 round a minute.
That is a Metal Storm product. It has many rounds in each barrel stacked on top of each other and they are fired electronically.
deer season? imagine being an enemy on the business end of that weapon. it would most likely literally cut someone in half. i think its cool, but useless. the roughly 4,000 rpm gun that they use in some secret service vehicles and some at the livermore lab are kind of cool. and have a point. they are made by dillon aerospace i think.

Yeah, rate of fire and rounds available are completely different. This reminds me of something that the scientologists would have mounted on their compound.
They have all kinds of different configurations using the same basic concept of stacking mulitple rounds in the same barrel.
They want to replace the multi-barrel rotating air defence guns on ships with these boxes. Use downward firing bomblets on RPVs, robotic sentry systems, and so on.
