I agree, but where were you guys during the Vietnam War?

Yeah, I know, probably not even born yet. If you weren't around then, active military personnel and vets during and after THAT war got a huge amount of abuse thrown at them. Other than a couple of statues, they've never been fully recognized for the risks they took to "defend" our country in that FAILED political mission and my heart goes out to them for the risks they took in that fruitless war.

I went in 78, just missed Vietnam. I just turned 18 when I went in. I also remember growing up watching the nightly news with the list of names that were KIA every night. It was a very tough time for those coming home, and those of us going into the service. It was not appreciated by the younger general public at that time even when I went in to the ARMY a fews years later....

my uncle a Marine in Iwo Jima,
my nephew is Airborne in Afghanistan.
