Might relocate to Colorado from Bend, Oregon

FJ'ers,
I'm considering a job opportunity in Colorado, Parker would be base (I think). Can anyone tell me the best places to live around there? Thanks in advance,
BendFJ

I live 5 miles from Parker... loads of options in that area... probably more expensive than where you are at... but a nice clean low crime area for sure!

Are homes more than $200/sq.ft? If so, then it is more expensive than Bend.

Hi.
There are several similar threads with good answers. I suggest if you will work in Parker, then just live there.

Ahhh,
I didn't think of that. I'll do a search.
Is the traffic bad? I'll be working at some of the hospitals and surgery centers. Thanks

no, not in Parker... You should be able to find a nice attractive 2,000s.f. 3bedroom home for $280-300k... maybe less with the market correction...

avg. home prices for Denver are $250k...

Re: Might relocate to Colorado from Bend, Oregon

Great!
Bend area home price average is near 330K. I'll be able to take a 100k loss on my house and still buy a home there instead of renting. Thanks for the info. How's the weather?

Re: Might relocate to Colorado from Bend, Oregon

Parker gets a lot of snow, but it's not bad. Parker road is a terrible commute though, I do everything possible to avoid it at rush hour. It's right off of E470 though and no ones ever on it (probably because it's the most expensive toll road in the country).

Check out the areas just north of parker as well or west in Highlands Ranch, although traffic in highlands ranch can be pretty brutal sometimes, especially C470 at rush hour.

Tons of new homes though at very good prices. I think they were offering 4.875% in my neighborhood last month on new homes provided you went with the builders lender. It's definitely a buyers market.

Re: Might relocate to Colorado from Bend, Oregon

Weather is mild... a handful of snow days a year... Parker hardly gets a ton of snow... maybe 6-8" once a year... and 5-6 times of 1-2" easy easy, with an FJ for sure...

Re: Might relocate to Colorado from Bend, Oregon

Thanks guys. I don't know a thing about CO since I've been living in WA and OR all of my life. I appreciate your info.
