Re: Not for people too attached to Bambi

I've never hit a deer (though I know lots of people who have) and that's the first time I've ever seen one hit from that point of view. A quick google search reveals that in Indiana there were 10,904 "reported" motor vehicle collisions with deer. The actual number was probably somewhat more as folks with only liability on an older vehicle may have no reason to report it. Travis kicks butt even if he lost than one. That boy is crazy.

Edit: by the way, that figure was from Jan 1 to Dec 31 of 1999.

Hit two deers, once in my moms Camry when I was 19, and about 5 years later in my 77 Ranchero. The Camry did'nt take hardly any visible damge, she never she never found out. In the Ranchero, I smacked one dead on going fast like the video. I warped the bumper, smashed the grill and buckled the hood.

Re: Not for people too attached to Bambi

You would have thought the engine noise would have pushed Bambi back into the cover. They're lucky the deer didn't come through the windshield.

Re: Not for people too attached to Bambi

The noise of the car is probably what spooked the deer and caused it to run across the road and basically intercept the car. Yep, deer are no smarter than squirrels and rabbits.

But.....they are deadlier!

I had the misfortune of watching helplessly as a driver took his last breaths just 3 days before Christmas '06 as 'Have Yourself A Merry Christmas' played on his radio. This was due to a deer that flew across the median strip into his windshield after being hit by another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction at 55 MPH. He never knew what hit him!
