Synthetic Oil Changeover

My kid bought a car with 35,000 on it. Is it OK to change the oil to synthetic at this point??

Re: Synthetic Oil Changeover

Yes, you can change to synthetic any time. I change mine on the first oil change. Lots of new cars come with synthetic from the factory now.

Thanks for the info. Actually, it is more for easier cold weather starts than anything else.

yep change at any time as mentioned...some high mileage cars may leak slightly but will do no harm and will help with starting and increasing life...good luck

save your money.

unless it's a formula one race car, you don't need fancy oils.

they're a scam.

Perhaps, but synthetic certainly makes for an easier start in cold weather, at least it did in my FJ.
You don't get the same impression being in Antarctica??

Re: Synthetic Oil Changeover

I changed a car over at 109,000 miles and no leaks, that was 8 years ago (it's a 1995).
