With all due respect sir there are allot of very smart scientist basing research on the subject off scientific facts, that say it is climate change and for people to actually speed that process up is pretty far fetched. There is a documentary that is all over the net called "the great global warming swindle" it's worth a watch if your on the fence or just looking for answers. Pay attention to who the people that are talking. They are not just average scientist they have some good back ground on the subject. Good luck.
I absolutely agree Jon, but at the same time there are just as many scientists with just as impressive credentials who are saying that they believe we ARE risking catastrophic events with the way things have been going. My position is that there is no conclusive evidence one way or the other and I prefer to err on the side of caution. What gets under my skin is when people base their opinion on this based on political affiliation or feelings about some celebrity / politician and what he thinks. I remain skeptical, but honestly worried about the consequences if "they" are right.

He is using the preposterous notion that man is the cause of regular cyclical climate change to boost himself.
A few years ago he was washed up and sporting a look like Tom Hanks in that desert island flick... Now, he has morphed into some sort of Hollywood darling with an Oscar.
The breathy one is laughing all the way to the bank...
I reported myself to UPHILL and asked him to close this thread because I am a narrow minded asshole for having opinions.
I agreed with FROGEYE and said, "so what's new about that?"

What's funny is that the government, fueled by lobbyists, are darned near destroying the personally-owned auto business. V8 motors are becoming extinct. We are going back to the 70's with low horsepower, gas-sipping vehicles. All of this in the name of fuel conservation and green house gas emissions.
I've said this before, but it apparently didn't sit well with the crowd....
Do any of you remember 9/12/2001? The DAY AFTER? Here in So Cal, we had conditions ripe for a Stage 1 smog alert. Hot, stagnant air. But there were no aircraft (except military) in the air. The air was the cleanest it has been since the 1920's....fresh air! We had the usual amount of ground traffic....actually, maybe more to compensate for the lack of air travel.
That told me one thing. We are concentrating too much on the "little guy" (that would be you and me), and not enough on the federally-subsidized air industry. They are spewing green house gasses into the atmosphere at a HUGE rate. They dump fresh, unburnt (and very expensive) fuel into the atmosphere at a huge rate. they burn fuel like we have an unlimited supply.
Yeah, we've had years of research for improved fuel consumption and less exhaust gas for the auto industry. But no one has touched the air industry. Why? Lobbyists, federal subsidies, politics. That's it. Start to regulate the air industry, and you will begin to really tackle the problem.
So, until Gore, his cronies, politicians, lobbyists, and people in general, get their collective acts together, my little FJ and it's emissions are but a drop in the ocean. And the arguments are nothing but scare tactics to make us save fuel so the airlines can burn it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
