Kat you are the Mommy and need to do whats best for your baby! My daughter did not nurse her oldest and is not nursing the new one and they are just fine!! I just can't imagine having to pay for what formula costs now a days!!! When my daughter went on formula at 3 months it was under a dollar a can for the concentrate, my son it was just under 2 dollars, my grandson it was over 3 dollars so now it must be almost 4 dollars!!! and even the powder is 15 to 20plus bucks unless you go to costco and get more powder or the same $$!!
But she sure is a cutie!!! and life will get into a good routine for you, soon i hope! Keep us posted.
What have you ever milked?
A cat.
A cat?
I milked a cat once. You wanna hear a story? Sure.
My sister had a cat, and the cat birthed a litter of kittens.
Must've been of them, and there was this one little runt...
this little sweet little... little-engine-that-could runt...
who wanted to get up there and couldn't really get access to the-- to the--
to the-- to the-- to the teat.
Teat?
Dad. What have you.
I went in and just simply, you know, just--
into a little saucer,
then took the saucer and fed it to Geppetto-- that's what I named him.
I had-- I had no idea you could milk a cat.
Oh, yeah, you can milk anything with nipples.
I have nipples, Greg. Could you milk me?
Okay, could we change the subject perhaps?

I was wondering when this would show up in the thread.

I was able to pump today. What a RELIEF! I'm not letting her back on these girls, but as long as I can do it that way, we will give her both formula and breast milk.
I was frustrated and stressed when starting this thread! Thank you all for your advice and kind words!
Baylie is doing awesome by the way! Got her weight up by 3 ounces so the doctors are happy.
She is healthy and SUPER happy! She hardly ever cries, we are soooo lucky! AND, she sleeps for 3-4 hours at a time! ...which is awesome at night, works for me!
That is GREAT Kat!!!! Good job! Sounds like everyone is really doing well.

Well it seems to be working for you now! If you put her on those things now it really wont hurt as much, for me the pump was much more painful, once the pressure is relieved its much easier all the way around. But as long as everyone is doing well and its working for ya. your life will ease into routine, and zombieland! Till she's sleeping through the night!
My daughter says lil Ashleigh goes from 11pm till 5 or 6am, so she is starting to feel a little rested! and she's gone from 8-3 to 9-1 in 2 weeks! but she went down to 7-15 the first few days.
Mrs FJDave wanted me to throw in her advice, but I just told her that Kat wanted no advice or encouragement. But she said the pump should be used to drop the internal pressure down, and try to feed the milk to your daughter in addition to the formula. She stopped breast feeding at 10 months, when our son wondered what effect his new teeth would have.....OUCH!
