Re: BRUZER's SWISS Adventure

Now, the funny thing I've found, in the town I'm staying in (Grenchen), there is no cheddar cheese to be found..........nada
oh, the grocery stores have plenty of cheeses, just no cheddar - not even the white Irish cheddar
how am I supposed to eat my Skyline Chili without cheddar cheese? (Skyline Chili - Cincinnati original)
It's off to the big city I guess to see what we can find
I have found that some of the Swiss wines are really good, and might be the only thing that isn't too expensive here

Thats what it was like in France, great french fries but no Ketchup.

Re: BRUZER's SWISS Adventure

"Normal" shopping involved multiple cities, even countries lol Found an old grocery list recently, organized by country....that was a big part of the fun! Another thing I did with things like cheese was to order a huge variety, but small samples, well-marked (drove them crazy) Had a few horrible stinky failures but some delicious surprises! I think good thick American pizza was what I missed the most. So, are you exploring chocolate??

Europe needs to invest in some pizza cutters, that is for sure - no such thing as ordering a pizza and eating it by the slice............

Chocolates, maybe just a little - The bakery by where I stay is open early, so stop every morning to pick something up
New apartment is supposed to be completed by April, so moving to more of a typical Swiss village, should be pretty awesome - no church bells every 15 minutes right outside the window

The bakeries...omg...really miss those! But not those damn church bells Sounds great, living in a village - you'll have such a different experience. Really get to know some people, possibly even lasting friendships. Nice!

If you get up to Basel, see if you can find the wall of rock stars. When I was there in 2013, we stumbled across a wall spray painted with images of well known musicians.

Re: BRUZER's SWISS Adventure

Well.................finally saw an FJ in Switzerland, was parked right across the street from my apartment (what are the odds)
Waited around and finally got to talk with the owner - he said it was a PIA to be able to bring the car to Switzerland and get it registered. - he loves it though (somehow, I already knew that)

Anyway - here ya go
