On 6-6-1944 The allied forces saved the world from dictatorship on the beaches of Normandy. On this anniversary I want to say thank you and we'll never forget the sacrifices those heros made in WWII.

My Grandfather participated on Utah Beach. He was aboard the Susan B. Anthony troop ship. His unit went ashore on something like D+4. We are loosing one of the greatest generations this country has seen. He was just part of a Memorial Day parade back in Petoskey, MI. He was been a huge part of why I joined the Marine Corps 17 years ago.

It's sad to think that so many of them are gone now. I believe that the WWII generation are perhaps the smartest, toughest, and most influential societal force the world has scene since the Ionian Renaissance. It is an honor for me to just sit and listen to them tell of their sacrifices and achievements.
And when you start to look at the Normandy Invasion... all the stories made, and all the lives lost... I am awed by their perseverance and tenacity. Incredible. Simply incredible.
Thanks.

I like to add my voice to the choir - thank you The Greatest Generation! I only hope that the legacy they leave will not be lost to future generations.
We must never forget our past, or we will be condemned to repeat it!

It is my opinion that the single biggest and most critical decision ever made in the history of the world is when Eisenhower said "GO" on that stormy night of 6-5-44. Who has ever had that kind of pressure before or after!
