Re: This government intrusion has hit too close to home

Things are a bit different here in Europe. Boobs are shown everywhere... and hardcore porn magazines are literally right next to the kids' toys in freeway stop shops (my 3 year old son just stares...)

The worst part for me, is that the ugliest / fattest people are wearing the skimpiest swimsuits (and that includes males!). I just want to yell: cover up, people!! I'm gonna puke!

sheesh!!

Re: This government intrusion has hit too close to home

My only question is why we don't have one of those here...

Way cool!

I think tech-step and drum and bass may be a bit hardcore for me, but I will have to come check it out anyway. Happy hardcore is definitely way too hardcore for me. (Or is drum and bass more junglie? You called it masty, evil, dark so I am assuming it is on a happy hardcore annoying like level.)
Oh, I forgot--as an old-schooler, you would have referred to it as jungle, and at the time there were four distinct sounds, jump-up (somewhat like happy hardcore without the chipmunk vocals), tech-step (a very organized step-beat UK style), dark (more syncopation than tech-step) and intelligent (think ambient with quick drums). What I play is NOTHING like happy hardcore and in fact, I would probably label it the antithesis of happy hardcore (also called UK hardcore)--I ABHOR happy hardcore with every fiber of my being. If I am unlucky enough to walk into a room filled with it, I find the nearest exit out before it completely defiles my ears.

My genre is like the punk music or even metal of the rave scene. In fact, I've even seen a few mosh pits--not in a few years, but I have seen them.

I gave Doc a couple of my CDs--I never make mixes anymore but I have a couple that I'll bring to you next week at the game.

I hope Marcus did something with his talent. I loved when he worked the place. After hours was the best!

I heard he went to Europe or the UK to play and had always hoped he did well.
I can't confirm the Europe rumors but I do know that he and Heather ended up settling in Florida quite a few years ago and ended up setting up a bondage and fetish type club. Quite the departure for them, but to each their own.

Yeah......sucks you missed the game, but only because it was a bit boring and I could have used some entertainment.

Heh! But your hunny scored!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The old guys kicked the lil kid's (one was even 13 !!!!!!!!! years old) arses.

Except........... the kids were playing two men .........(errrrrrr boys) down.

Still, way cool that your hunny scored!
Yeah, he guilted me a little for not being there, but I had already felt bad about not making it out anyway. He did have to rub it in a bit that he scored and assisted on the other goals. Then he told me about the age-difference. You can bet it makes him feel good to know he can kick 18-19 year old butts that are supposed to be able to outrun his 30+ year old butt.

He complains how out of shape he is but I don't see it. He played the whole game and scored...if he was THAT out of shape, that wouldn't have happened.

Eeeeekkk....we are on the same page with this one.

Sounds interesting. Justin's new fun in the FJ is cranking up Dope. I really like their New Order re-mix too.

Mosh pits.....LOL....we used to go to lots of punk and skapunk venues. Justin is an old school punk fan. Social D, Pennywise......Ramones.....all the crappy garage stuff that sounds horrible on the new technology.

I landed on my butt in a few mosh pits.....always stayed away from the frat pits though.

LOL..... true that.......to each their own.

I prefer to stay away from any place where I may come across unknown body fluids. Heck.....I drag my own sheets to hotel rooms.

The Works was scary enough.

I saw some CRAZY stuff there. I'm sure you did too....I mean, it was a gay bar.......that got invaded by the masses for "after hours".

Justin drank two beers before the game because he said the lil kids were gonna kick their arses anyway. He supposedly plays better after a few drinks anyway.

Our guys all pretty much used their weight to push the lil kids around and wouldn't let them out run them in short sprints.
