Steve Fossett found?

In case some of y'all are familiar with the area they mention in the article, how remote is this location?

Has Steve Fossett been found? On The Scene FOXNews.com

Interesting that they found no wreckage, just some small items. I guess a full-fledged search may reveal more, if that is even performed...

that's pretty cool - thanks for posting this. I wonder what this means...maybe he wandered from the site?

Re: Steve Fossett found?

There was a rumor that he staged his death, for monetary gain (collecting insurance, or something along those lines).

Who knows, the mystery continues...

FOXNews.com - Sheriff: Wrecked Plane Found in California Mountains Is Steve Fossett's - Local News | News Articles | National News | US News

"The crash looked to be so severe that I doubt if someone would have walked away from it," said Anderson during a Thursday news conference. The engine was lying about 300 feet from the wings and the fuselage, which disintegrated on impact.

Re: Steve Fossett found?

I'm sure they'll find remains, unless the animals have scattered them.

RIP, Fossett. Mystery solved.

SheriffAnderson said no human remains were found in the wreckage.

"It's quite often if you don't find remains within a few days, because of animals, you'll find nothing at all," Anderson said.

Re: Steve Fossett found?

They should at least be able to find some bones even if the animals 'recycled' his remains.

Mountain lions had a den on our property about 10 years ago (before we moved here) and I can still fine large bones in the area where the den once was.
