Re: Crappy cell phones
My Blackberry Storm WAS great! But I dropped it in a full cup of newcastle this weekend after a few There's $200 down the drain! It still kinda works but not nearly the same

I had two razr's - the first I ran over with my FJ - still worked! But the screen was destroyed. The second I recently replaced with a Samsung Blackjack. I love it. I was tired of having a flipphone and this gets better reception as well being 3G. The razr is being retained for backup.

Not a digital camera. Not a video camcorder. Not an MP3 player. Not an Internet accessing device. Not a digital movie player. Not a walkie-talkie. Not a remote control for my TIVO programming. Not a JPEG photo album. Not a television. Not a built-in coffee maker.
Just a decent cellphone.
I think since the manufacturers have tried to put every conceivable non-telephone feature into a cell phone, they kinda forgot what the original purpose of a quality cell phone was supposed to be.
I agree. I always said that I'd never have a phone with a camera in it. Now it is almost impossible to find one without.
I'd say switch companies but if your with Verizon, as far as I've seen, they have the best coverage of any of the companies, you can pay a little for that though
Hey, I'll be the first to admit that I'm "old-school" when it comes technology. (And, if it wasn't for the reported lousy coverage the Jitter Bugs have, I'd almost consider a simple phone like that.)
However, whenever you try to cram so many unrelated features into a unit that was initially designed as simply a phone, something's got to be sacrificed. Given the size of a typical cell phone, if every circuit within that small space was dedicated to nothing but good transmitting, reception and clarity, you'd have one helluva cell phone!!
(Heck, use the given space allocated for the camera, GPS and MP3 player circuitry for a higher quality transmitter, a better speaker/microphone, a clearer display window or a enhanced integral antenna.)
Why don't they make "professional" cell phones?? A professional photographer would never buy a high-end Nikon or Canon camera that also doubles as a cell phone or text-messaging device. Nor would I have bought my FJ Cruiser if it served double-duty as a sewing machine or a lawnmower.
Blackberry's! They are the best, number one cell phone in the world....Many different models, makes, colors, specs....
I have a Pearl...awesome phone!
I-phones are crap!...you need a bachelors degree to know how to work the thing. Mine's sitting in a drawer collecting dust....want it?!
Dude are you serious... the Iphone is the easiest damned phone I've ever used. So easy that my computer/technology illiterate husband wanted it..and has no problems with it either. And yes he uses a lot of the applications (level, plumb bob, etc.) for his work.
my coverage with the Iphone has tripled compared to my black berry in the mountains.

Come on Athena. I think you meant "dudette".
PS . . . You should take her up on the "Want it ?" You can have a spare.

You just had to bring up the Jitterbug didn't you.
I like the sound of the "professional" cell phone. Stuff it full of the best technology for the best performance and leave all the gimicks out. I'd buy it.
