I can't tell from the video but it looks like a old international or ford bronco to me? Either way I don't think it's a big deal.
But that's just my 2cents I'm sure I'm wrong.
X2 I don't agree with the blogger that Toyota wants us to trade in for a Yaris. The video itself features an FJ along with almost every other Toyota make.
I've seen that comercial once and my thought was who was the idiot that traded their LC in for 4500 bucks? I bet they could have gotten that by just selling it outright. I bet in 6-12 months we will be seeing alot of repo's from people who could not make their monthly payments and wish they had their old clunker back
There are a number of misconceptions with this. First the commercial segment is part of the government cash for cars program. It is commissioned by the program not any specific manufacturer and is used by any dealer selling any make. I've seen it on commercials for Ford, Chevy & Toyota dealers (not a manufacturer commercial - dealer commercials).
Add to that the Land Cruiser in the commercial segment is an older model and distorted with the assumption that most people would not recognize it for what it is.
Making assumptions like this is just plain irresponsible but I guess that is what you get when anybody can start a blog.
This guy has a bad habit of not doing good research before he starts typing.
