Cool Land Cruiser traveling around the world..

I found this article: I really liked his car choice and what he is about to accomplish...it is a sweet idea.

I just read the artical...I think he also should worry about eastern Europe...
My wife's Uncle went traveling through eastern Europe and got killed. They robbed him and took his ride. If that dude is smart, he better be packing!

Thats true...I would just get tints, these would come in handy in Africa and places where he will stick out more than everyone...although eastern europe could be bad, atleast he can blend in with the regular population somewhat. Except for the NY plates..haha

Man, talk about an excursion! If only I had $50k and a year to kill.... still, some of the destinations sound uber sketchy to me...

Good luck to him!

Re: Cool Land Cruiser traveling around the world..

I once saw a show where "Stuart Varney" of Fox Business News, said after he left college in England back on the early 70's, he hitchhiked all over the world for FOUR (4) years. Four years, wow! He ended up in San Francisco and got a job as a broadcaster from a help wanted as in a newspaper.

He said he would NOT recommend it now because world situations have changed in several areas of the world where he went.

He also said coming to the USA was like encountering real freedom. He went on to say only in America, that there is NOT a class system where it seems everyone is pegged by birth into certain classes or jobs. And Americans do not seem to realize many of the things that make the USA so unique and wonderful!

Re: Cool Land Cruiser traveling around the world..

Sounds like an amazing trip but im not sure if I would do it myself. I really dont think he is going to make it. A trip like that would be beyond brutal on a truck and he has not invested enough money and time to make sure his rig will make it. Nevertheless I hope he is safe throughout the journey. Props to him for following his dream.

I must hand it to this guy and like many others, who follow their dream. I wish him the best. Looks like he already made a good decision on the ride.
